Maria Beebe, Ph.D. is an applied sociolinguist whose research interests include critical discourse analysis, women’s leadership, and information communication technologies (ICTs) for development. She acts as advisor to TechNation to develop new initiatives in ICTs. As an outcome of her work as Senior Telecommunications Advisor in 2013 for the U.S. funded ICT capacity development project in Afghanistan, she recently co-authored two chapters on ICT capacity building for a book on Analysis of an Intervention: Lessons Learned from U.S. Advisory Work in Afghanistan's Information and Communications Technology Sector (2016, National Defense University Press). She co-edited AfricadotEdu, DISRUPT. Filipina Women: Loud. Proud. Leading without a Doubt (2015) and DISRUPT 2.0. Filipina Women: Daring to Lead (2016). Based on 20 years of international development experience, Dr. Beebe created Global Networks to foster collaborations for a sustainable world.
